led
LED Stringer
Stairs can be illuminated with circular LEDs that are installed in a side stringer.
LED Tread
Stairs can be illuminated with linear LEDs that are installed on the underside of the wood treads.
riser
Riser Bar
For code-compliance our open risers come with stainless steel riser bars ensuring that a 4" sphere can't pass through the space.
Closed Risers
Closed risers give a unique look to the stairs; they are available in thicknesses from 5/8" to 2 3/8"
stringer type
Stringer F
A solid Stringer design that is available for both Steel & Wood stairs.
Stringer C
A Stringer design that is angled on the bottom and follows the stairs/risers along the top edge; available for both Steel & Wood stairs.
Stringer S
A Stringer design that follows the stairs/risers along both edges; available only for Steel stairs.
Other (Additional)
Beech Standard/Non-Skid Finish
Beech treads are available in a smooth finish or a lightly brushed finish that meets anti-skid guidelines.
Extra-Thick Treads
To eliminate riser bars where there are open risers, extra-thick treads can be furnished to ensure that a 4" sphere can't pass through the space.
Side Bars
For code-compliance some of our models require stainless steel side bars to ensure that a 6" sphere can't pass through the opening.
Pressure Plate
Proxima stairs can now use a pressure plate to hold the glass to the stringer; the plate mounts through holes in the glass, keeping a clean powder-coated face toward the room.
Hidden Connections
Treads can be attached to the stringer with welded bolts/lunettes that are then covered, leaving a clean face on the stringer instead of visible bolts. This combination anchors the treads well, and leaves a smooth face.
Wood Covers on Glass Fittings
Wood covers can fit on top of the structural standoffs in order to provide a smooth look through the glass railing.
Horizontal Stiffeners
Horizontal Stiffeners are one way to elimate wall connections; they enhance the structural strength.
Wall Connections
Some stairs and landings require additional support. We provide a variety of wall connections for structural stability.
Non-Skid Strips
Commercial projects sometimes request stainless anti-skid strips on treads; we offer a few options.
Non-Skid Glass Frit
The top of a glass tread can receive a ceramic frit pattern that meets anti-skid requirements.
Glass Etching Options
Glass is both tempered and laminated. It is possible to use tinted laminate (20%-100% opacity) to simulate etching on a railing or tread.
